About Us

A Premier Child Development Organization for Walker County
We Fill A Critical Need

Boys & Girls Club of Walker County (BGCWC) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit child development organization operating in Huntsville, Texas for the benefit of youth throughout Walker County. Although we are independent from the Boys & Girls Club of America, we operate with the full support of and recognition by that organization.

Since 2003, our Clubs have been a place where youth develop a sense of belonging, empowerment and positive influence on others. Boys & Girls Clubs build character through everyday leadership and guidance in behavior and attitude. Young people of all nationalities, races and creeds join together in wholesome recreation and leadership.

Most importantly, the Boys & Girls Club shows youngsters that someone cares and wants them to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Boys & Girls Club of Walker County is a safe haven to more than 500 members. Our two sites serve our 4 elementary, Intermediate, middle schools and surrounding communities throughout Huntsville/Walker County with programs and services for ages 5 - 14.

With funding and in-kind support from our partners -- City of Huntsville, Walker County and Huntsville Independent School District as well as hundreds of private donors -- BGCWC is committed to keeping program fees low in support of those families who need child services the most.

When schoolwork is completed, programs focus on helping children realize their fullest potential as responsible and caring citizens.
