Volunteering

Volunteering @ The Club
There are a variety of ways to be involved...
once a year or every day.
Working Directly with Children . . .

At the Clubhouse we are blessed with volunteers most every weekday afternoon. They assist the children with their daily activities, providing an afternoon snack, giving homework assistance/tutorials, and organizing and monitoring indoor and outdoor recreational activities. Volunteers may also organize an activity for the children that they are uniquely qualified in, such as an art project or sewing or dancing or a field day or carnival. How you work with the children is only limited by your imagination, energy, and desire.

If you want to work with children, you will need to complete our Volunteer Application and register online for a criminal background check. The background check is required by the State of Texas for all adults working with children to ensure the safety of our kids.

Supporting Community and Fundraising Events . . .

The Boys & Girls Club could not possibly participate in available activities of Walker County to promote, entertain, and expand children without the involvement of great volunteers.

We participate each year in many community events, among them Day for Kids, Fair on the Square, Scare on the Square, and multiple parades. We utilize the assistance of volunteers for transportation, set up and take down of materials and equipment for the event and to monitor and facilitate children’s activities. Bring your heart and your hands out to assist. You’ll have a lot of fun!

We also organize a major fundraiser each fall— the Be Great Golf Classic. There are many opportunities for you to jump in and make a huge difference as we bring out the community to support us.

Just call us at 936-291-6054 to volunteer your services.
From the use of your pickup truck or your muscles to your organizational
or artistic skills, you can get as involved as you want to be.
