Trinity Site Progress Update

The Boys & Girls Club of Walker County is making exciting progress toward reopening Club services in Trinity for the 2026–2027 school year. Our goal is to restore a safe, supportive place where children and teens can learn, grow, and thrive after school and during the summer.

Over the past several days, tremendous work has already taken place at the Trinity site. Cleanup, inventory, organizing, and building preparation are well underway. With the help of dedicated volunteers, community leaders, local partners, and the City of Trinity, large amounts of trash, broken furniture, and unusable equipment have been removed, and the space is beginning to come back to life.

We are especially grateful to everyone who has stepped in to help move this effort forward, including the City of Trinity, Live Oak Environmental, Mayor Goodin, local community partners, and the TDCJ Ellis Unit inmate crew, whose hard work made a major impact on the cleanup process. Because of this collective effort, we are now moving from cleanout to transformation, with priming, painting, organizing, and needed repairs already underway.

There is still more work to do. As we continue preparing the building for a successful reopening, we are focused on safety needs, repairs, operational readiness, and creating a welcoming environment for the children and families of Trinity.

This is more than a building project — it is a community effort to bring back critical youth services and create a true home away from home for local kids.
