Our History and Leadership
Boys & Girls Club of Walker County, Inc. is designated as a 501(c)(3) public charity by the Internal Revenue Service. We began operating in Huntsville, Texas in February 2003.
We operate with funding and in-kind support from our community partners -- City of Huntsville, Walker County and Huntsville Independent School District -- and hundreds of private donors.
We are governed by a full-time Executive Director and a Board of Directors who are committed volunteers from Walker County.
Michelle Spencer
Chief Executive Officer
Michelle, a proud graduate of Sam Houston State University, moved back to Huntsville in 2005 to become Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Boys & Girls Club of Walker County (BGCWC), in which role she remains today. Since moving to Huntsville with her three children, Michelle has become a vital and involved part of the Walker County community. Michelle’s children have been educated in the Huntsville schools and, through her children, Michelle has been an enthusiastic supporter of area sports.
Michelle, 31-year professional with Boys & Girls Club, loves children and has committed her life to making sure they are cared for, educated, and given opportunities to thrive.
